Finally to properly announce the next exhibition I will be taking part in! Due to the ever changing situation this year so far, this event has been postponed twice already - but thankfully we are all clear and the pop- up gallery will be taking place from the 24th of May - 2nd of June 2021!
I've been looking forward to this event since I received the word that my word had been chosen back in January! The event is the first of its kind in the space and will certainly be new experience for me in my art career! Kate Wray and Hause of O are the hosts of the event. Artists themselves, Kate Wray is a Sculpture and Installation Artist, and Hause of O a Creative Consultant and Costume Designer. Both of them established artists with outstanding respective talent! I find it a honour that my work caught their eye.
The other artists involved are: My very good friend and fellow Fine Artist, Daria Szpak,
Painter and Fine Artist, Amy Byard
Painter and Fine Artist, Rebecca Atherton
And Photographic Artist, Abigail Elizabeth
Something I love about this exhibition is, though there is a small number of participating artists, there is such a huge variety of style and medium that there is something for everyone to enjoy. The exhibition is taking place down in Wakefield, England meaning I will unfortunately not be able to attend in person, however I wish everyone involved the very best of luck with their art and the exhibition as a whole. I am so looking forward to following along and seeing how it all goes! For anyone reading who is in the area, the exhibition will be taking place in The Art Exchange, a space that is included in The Ridings Shopping Centre, on Almshouse Lane and will be open Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 1-6pm, and 10-1pm on Saturdays. The exhibition will run for 6 weeks.
I decided that for this exhibition I would enter the first four miniature portraits I completed last year as part of The Garden's Glory series. I was so gutted that all events and exhibitions were cancelled last year and so I never got to frame up and show off those little beauties so I jumped at the chance this year! (Hopefully it's the first and not only exhibition this year!)
My entries are:
I can't wait to see them hanging in their little frames ready to be admired properly! The poor things have been shut in a drawer waiting on their time to shine for a year (can you believe it's been over a year since all this pandemic madness started?! No wonder we're all feeling it now.) Best of luck to all involved and be sure to keep an eye on my Instagram or Facebook pages for updates as the exhibition takes place!! Stay safe, stay sane, stay in touch,
